The 2014 beta test had the tenor of a mod for Battlefield 4, as though opposing armies had been reskinned to fulfill Hardline’s cops vs. robbers fantasy. Cops and crooks exchanged RPG fire on deserted city streets and zipped round in slippery cop cars. It was weird, so the devs decided to withdraw for a while to get things right. The finished version comes out on March 20, and comes with a Miami-based single player campaign in which you play a detective, Nick Mendoza, on a mission to bust apart a local drug ring. Expect entertaining cop-movie cliches aplenty.
